Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of Jianpi Shengxue granules combined with ferrous succinate tablets for children with iron deficient anemia. Methods：A total of 100 cases of children with iron deficient anemia were selected and divided into the control group and the experiment group according to the random number table method，with 50 cases in each group. The control group was given ferrous succinate tablets and the experiment group was treated with Jianpi Shengxue granules combined with ferrous succinate tablets. Both groups were treated for four weeks. Clinical effects were compared between the two groups. Before and after treatment， changes in Chinese medicine syndrome scores， growth and development [Psychomotor Developmental Index(PDI)， Mental Development Index(MDI)， developmental quotient(DQ) in psychomotor development]， and serology indexes[serum ferritin(SF)， mean corpuscular hemoglobin(MCH)， hemoglobin (HB)] were compared between the two groups. Results：The total effective rate was 92.00% in the experiment group，higher than that of 76.00% in the control group， the difference being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment， the scores of facial complexion，tongue and lip color，lassitude of spirit and lack of strength，and appetite as well as the total scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment，and the above four scores and the total score in the experiment group were lower than those in the control group，differences being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment，scores of PDI，MDI and DQ in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment，and the above three scores in the experiment group were higher than those in the control group， differences being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment， levels of SF， Hb， and MCH in serum in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment，and the above three levels in the experiment group were higher than those in the control group，differences being significant(P＜0.05). Conclusion： Jianpi Shengxue granules combined with ferrous succinate tablets can relieve anemia symptoms of children with iron deficient anemia，and promote their growth and development.
