Abstract： Objective： To observe the effect of lactulose combined with point application with magnolia powder on defecation in children after surgery of indwelling catheter. Methods： A total of 250 cases of children undergoing surgical treatment of concealed penis and hypospadias were divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number method， 125 cases in each group. The control group was given the oral liquid of lactulose， and the observation group was additionally given point application with magnolia powder based on the treatment of the control group. The curative effect was compared between the two groups. Results：After intervention，the severity of constipation in the two groups was decreased， and the decrease in the observation group was larger than that in the control group(P＜0.05). After medication，the first defecation time in the observation group was earlier than that in the control group(P＜0.05). The curative effect in the observation group was better than that in the control group(Z=2.827，P＜0.05). There was no significant difference being found in the comparison of incidence of various adverse reactions between the two groups(P＞0.05). Conclusion： The application of lactulose combined with point application with magnolia powder in treating children after surgery of indwelling catheter，can improve constipation and promote patency of defecation，with good safety.
