Abstract：Objective：To observe the curative effect of Shegan Mahuang tang combined with western medicine for cough variant asthma in children. Methods：A total of 94 cases of children with cough variant asthma were divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number method，47 cases in each group. The control group was treated with western medicine，and the observation group was additionally treated with Shegan Mahuang tang based on the treatment of the control group. The severity of cough before and after treatment and the curative effect in the two groups were compared. Results：After treatment，the scores of severity of cough and indexes of lung function in the two groups were improved(P＜0.05). After treatment， the score of severity of cough and indexes of lung function in the observation group were better than those in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment，the neutrophils percentage in sputum and Th1/ Th2 ratio in the two groups were improved when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)， the difference being significant(P＜0.05). There was no significant difference being found in the comparison of incidences of pharynx discomfort， vomiting，dizziness and rash between the two groups(P＞0.05). Conclusion：Shegan Mahuang tang combined with western medicine for cough variant asthma in children can improve symptoms and curative effect and stabilize immune system with good safety.
