Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of Tongqiao Huoxue tang for sudden deafness in young and middleaged people. Methods：A total of 120 cases of young and middle-aged patients with sudden deafness were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group，60 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine western medicine， and the observation group was additionally treated with Tongqiao Huoxue tang based on the treatment of the control group. The clinical effect and the incidence of adverse reactions in the two groups were compared. Results： The improvement time of main symptoms including hearing， tinnitus， ear fullness and vertigo in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment，the scores of hearing loss and threshold of pure tone audiometry in the two groups were improved when compared with those before treatment，and the improvement in the observation group was better than that in the control group(P＜0.05). The total effective rate was 96.67% in the observation group，lower than that of 71.67% in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05).After treatment， the related indexes of hemodynamics and coagulation in the two groups were improved when compared with those before treatment，and the levels of the above indexes in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group， the difference being significant(P＜0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions was 11.67% in the observation group and 21.67% in the control group，there being no significance in the difference(P＞0.05). Conclusion：The application of Tongqiao Huoxue tang can improve the clinical symptoms of patients and the clinical effective rate as well as reduce the score of hearing loss and the threshold of pure tone audiometry，which has good prognosis.
