Abstract： Objective： To observe the effect of Liangxue Jiedu Huayu tang on liver function and coagulation indexes in patients with hepatitis B virus-associated acute-on-chronic liver failure(HBV-ALCF). Methods：A total of 98 cases of HBVACLF patients were divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method， 49 cases in each group. The control group was given routine western medicine， and the observation group was additionally treated with Liangxue Jiedu Huayu tang based on the treatment of the control group. The liver function， coagulation indexes and complications before and after treatment as well as the clinical effect in the two groups were compared. Results： The total effective rate was 89.80% in the observation group， higher than that of 71.43% in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment， the levels of alanine aminotransferase(ALT)， aspartate aminotransferase(AST)， total bilirubin(TBil) and prothrombin time(PT) in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment， and the levels of albumin(Alb) and prothrombin activity(PTA) were increased(P＜0.05)；the levels of ALT，AST，TBil and PT in the observation group were lower than those in the control group，and the levels of Alb and PTA were higher(P＜0.05). After treatment， Chinese medicine syndrome score in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05). The incidence of complications was 6.12% in the observation group，lower than that of 28.57% in the control group(P＜0.05). Conclusion： Liangxue Jiedu Huayu tang for HBV-ACLF patients can improve liver function and coagulation function，and reduce incidence of complications，with definite curative effect.
