Objective：To summarize administration characteristics and clinical application experience of YOU Zaijing using Liuwei Dihuang pills.Methods：Based on Remarks on Four Schools Medical Cases Selected by LIU(Liu Baoyi)，19 cases of YOU Zaijing applying Liuwei Dihuang pills and the modified ones were selected so as to sort out and analyze the categories，individual medicine and application of each medicine pair.Results：YOU Zaijing applied Liuwei Dihuang pills mostly for treating cough and asthma，emission，and endogenous diseases.In clinical practice，YOU Zaijing usually added schisandra chinensis，achyranthes root，cinnamon，tiandong and other medicine in which schisandra chinensis and cinnamon，and wolfberry fruit and tiandong were often the modified medicine pairs.Conclusion：In YOU Zaijing's opinion，with the aim of finding out the origin of a disease，great importance should be attached to the natural kidney when applying Liuwei Dihuang pills so as to realize the mutual aid of water and fire and the balance of yin and yang.
