Objective:To observe curative effect of integrated Chinese and western medicine therapy on acne vulgaris.Methods:Divided 92 patients with acne vulgaris into two groups,46 cases in each group.Control group was given oral minocycline hydrochloride capsules and 0.025%tretinoin cream for external application.Observation group was given modified oral Chinese medicine decoction based on treatment of the control group.Both groups receivedtreatment for six weeks.Observed distribution of acne grade,change in scores of pustular rash,oil-lustrous complexion and tongue pulse of both groups before and after treatment,and evaluated curative effect.Results:After treatment,compared distribution of acne grade in both groups, the difference was significant(P <0.05).After treatment, scores of pustular rash, oil-lustrous complexion and tongue pulse in both groups were decreased,when compared with those before teatment;decrease of above symptom scores in observation group were more significant in comparison to that of the control group,differences being significant(P<0.05).The total effective rate was 86.96% in control group and 97.83% in observation group,the difference being significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Based on the combination of minocycline hydrochloride capsules and 0.025%tretinoin cream for external application,applying modified oral Chinese medicine decoction for acne vulgaris is more effective than using western medicine only,which can reduce severity of acne,achieve obvious effect,and is worth of clinical application.
