Abstract：Subarachnoid hemorrhage is an acute and severe disease with a high disability rate and a mortality rate. The etiology， pathogenesis， syndrome differentiation， prescriptions， and the basic research progress of subarachnoid hemorrhage from the perspective of Chinese medicine were summarized. The treatment of subarachnoid hemorrhage with Chinese medicine has the characteristics of multi-level，multi-system，and multi-target，which reflects certain treatment advantages. However， there should be a further exploration of unifying criteria for syndrome differentiation and judging curative effect，implementing evidence-based medicine research based on a larger sample，etc，so as to better guide the theory and clinical research of Chinese medicine.
